Giuliano Sommerhalder and his piano partner Kasia Wieczorek proudly present their new album "Vladimir Peskin - Complete Trumpet Music". A milestone in the world of the classical trumpet recordings, this CD is a true discovery for those who are still looking for trumpet repertoire that can really keep up with repertoire written for more popular instruments, like the violin or the piano.
A musical descendant of Alexander Scryabin, Russian pianist and composer Vladimir Peskin was a close friend of the trumpet legend, Timofei Dokshizer, and wrote a whopping 75 minutes worth of romantic, singing, virtuosic and brilliant music for trumpet and piano, a great amount of which has remained nearly forgotten until today.
This is Giuliano's tribute to this great idol of his, and to the great Russian trumpet tradition.
